Heather,
In an ideal world, change management is an integral part of defining the scope of our projects. If that true, we can evaluate the culture and anticipate the resistance to change at the beginning of an Initiative.
What happens when we join a team that’s more than halfway through a project?
Thanks again for your insight.

Great point of view - simple, yet upon reflection, a comprehensive snapshot of what can go wrong. I would go as far as proposing that these 4 assumptions, and/or deliberately not addressing the issues underlying these assumptions, even if the risks were known probably accounts for 80% of failed initiatives. This "one pager" is well worth sharing every time a new initiative is being considered

Hi,

I'm working to bring in a workforce planning measure that will have the company look internally at its positions and current abilities of its people in order to continue the provision of company services. They have never done this, and are generally not accustomed to looking internally. It is an uphill battle, all while competitors appear to be doing this very measure. I have all the arguments, but now I'm going after costs of NOT doing it. That should move some heads, but we'll see....
