I’ve never thought that thinking strategically & having a vision precluded the short term. The need is to ensure that short term actions are sustainable in the long and short term i.e that decisions made aren’t just to chase the $.
I would suggest that how you go about the short term should re-enforce the culture you are trying to create & continue to build a longer term.
