These online sessions will be more like an in-person class than a webinar. We’ll share experiences, discuss challenges, and do small group activities within the online learning platform. You’ll also be given time to complete the templates to apply the material to your own situation, and then share your templates with the class. This is not a listen-while-I-check-my-email online class. It’s a participate-and-get-things-done online class. While sessions will be recorded, to maximize the value of the course, it is important for you to attend live.
To access the online platform, you’ll need the Google Chrome browser on a computer or laptop. You’ll also need Microsoft PowerPoint to complete and share the templates. Join with a camera and microphone for maximum participation.
Who Should Attend?
The methodology taught in this course was developed for people working within organizations who are responsible for implementing change without having much authority. While these change practitioners go by many titles, they have one thing in common: in order to achieve the desired results, other people in the organization will need to change the way they work.
You will benefit from attending this course if:
- You are planning a project, and want to figure out how to get people to adopt the new way of doing things.
- You’re in the middle of a project that isn’t going as well as you hoped.
- You’re a human resources, project management, information technology, process improvement, or other professional who recognizes that people will make or break your ability to get things done.
- You want to build the change capability of your organization and seek practical tools.
- You’re a new or experienced change practitioner looking to expand your toolkit, increase your influence, and complete the training requirement for the Association of Change Management Professionals’ (ACMP®) Certified Change Management Practitioner (CCMP™) accreditation.

A sound change methodology and a toolkit full of practical templates give you a solid foundation as a change practitioner. Yet, designing change alone will not achieve results. Your ability to implement change relies on effectively using your influence. In this Fundamentals workshop, we take traditional change management one step further by building your influence skills throughout the methodology. After attending all the sessions, you’ll leave not only with a set of tools that will help you design your change initiative, but with practical steps you can personally take to influence change at work.

Helen Downie, Change Management Practitioner & Coach
Fundamentals of Influencing Change was an outstanding course that instantly provided tools to assist in leading change in my organization. Through the online, yet intimate course platform I learned so much from the presentations and conversations with my global classmates.
I signed up for the course knowing I needed guidance to lead my division through a governmental reorganization; and I am grateful I did! The templates provided have helped me organize what could have been an overwhelming process into a structure that will set employees up for a positive and successful outcome.
I am thrilled I have the foundation to continue my journey to better understand and deliver excellent change management services.
